Old School Footy.

9.01.10

Jen | shred. //

I was just rummaging through my hard drive and came across this old clip, it’s probably about 3 years old. Back when I was first trying w2w shuvs. Makes me wish the Ski Cuda was running so I could play on the small wake. All she needs is a new engine, tranny, and maybe some stringer reinforcement. Bummer. I think a lot of good stuff would be going down right now if I could get that beast up and running. I miss riding boat!

Wooo! We started doing monthly covers at Throw It Down. Feel free to make submissions!

Roman Rusinov came over to Lake Mills early one morning to try to capture some kflips. This shot had a crazy light leak, I love how the colors came out! I <3 film.

Worlds 10.

8.24.10

Jen | shred. //

I never made it to the podium my first year riding in Pro Women’s Wakeskate (2007). I only made it to finals one time, because I got really lucky and slid the whole flat bar 1st try. I used to do crazy things like one footed butter slides in my run. That year I was competing in wakeboarding too, that was my focus and the skating was just for laughs. I put the wakeboard down shortly after that and everything else escalated from there. This last weekend marks my 3rd World Champ title in a row…

Kiyoka came all the way from Japan to compete. Stoked to know girls are ripping all over the world! Congrats to all the girls that rode! My dad flew out for the weekend and we celebrated Sunday night with fireworks. Somehow the night ended in the kitchen, with the lights off, 3 flashlights and everyone going crazy of some serious bongo drumming. Like a full on indian tribe drum circle. Wild.

Thanks for the special trophy Brandon! Just another day at the FCTN headquarters…

Meet Scott Stewart.

8.15.10

Jen | shred. video. //

Scott just recently moved in with Danny and I out in Chuluota. This kid’s got some serious talent. He hadn’t even heard of the Buy Wake Global Rider Search and it was only 2 weeks away. We woke up extra early a few mornings so I could ride and have time to film before going to work at FCTN. Stoked I could help him out with his entry and I finally got to make some good use of my 7D!

Head over to vimeo to watch it in HD, I’m not a super pro member just yet…

TID Monthly Cover Design.

7.27.10

Jen | shred. //

I whipped up this design for the new TID monthly covers. Every month a new photo will be featured as the cover, highlighting girls that rip from all over the world. I’m still overly excited about the TID project to progress the women’s side of wake as a whole, all over the globe. My buddy Kara Austin had so many stylish photo’s it was hard to narrow it down to just one! Anybody can submit photo’s, their own profile, etc to be featured on Throw It Down.

Nat’s.

7.20.10

Jen | shred. //

I have ridiculously good luck flying (not). We get to the airport and our plane has a 3 hr delay, we miss our flight to Reno and have to stay in Salt Lake City over night. We catch the 1st flight out to Reno, they loose Meg’s bag, and we make it to the site 3 minutes before we had to be there to check-in. Meg sold her hotel voucher to some hippy dude and his wife to be for $30. Smart gal, hah.

I love it when Nationals is in Reno, it’s so close to home. Grandma won her title back. I had 20 something family members at the site watching both days. It was really great to see everyone. That was also some of the best contest riding I’ve ever done. Stoked on all the girls that came out to Reno! Good times…

My grandpartents friend, The Grandma (Cleone), Poppa Bob, & my mom…

I got up on a skurfer for the 1st time when I was 9 behind my grandparents SeaRay cabin cruiser. That’s about where it all started…cheers to them for getting me out there. I’ve got lots of photos to go through from Tahoe, more coming soon!

You know that weird look you have on your face when your trying to turn the darn camera on and off? Yea well, I can’t help but laugh every time I see one in the beginning and end of a go pro clip. So here ya go, I collaged some of the best, and the worst, so we can laugh together…baha ha HA! Maybe one day I will actually edit some of this goofy footage. Until then, laugh away…

Throwitdown.com !

5.25.10

Jen | shred. //

I’m really excited and proud to announce the launch of the new Throwitdown.com! We’ve been working hard the last few months restructuring and rebuilding this site so it can become a major tool in the progression of women’s wake. We currently have profiles from riders in over 13 countries, and I’m sure that number will only grow from there! Feel free to get in contact with us if you want to contribute, whether it be through writing articles, making videos, or adding your own profile to the site. TID will also be hosting clinics and Girls Ride Days. Be on the lookout for monthly covers, featured riders of the month, and ongoing discussions in the forum

Levitation.

5.05.10

Jen | life. random. shred. //

Check out those levitation skills. My board comes to me when called. Pretty awesome. It’s a new Integ feature for 2011 we are in the process of testing out…

And here’s some other randomness for you:

WakeGames came and went. No one else signed up so I won and lost it all at once. At least someone was there to represent. It was kind of disappointing at first…but you can’t really blame anyone. Everybody had finals and $165 is a steep entry fee when you don’t even have a chance to try to win it back. I mean really if you think about it women’s wakeboarding just recently got really good…so it should take women’s wakeskating another 5-10 years before we get there.

I’m hoping a plane home on Thursday to swoop up my sister and take her camping at NorCal Convergence. Stoked! Landed my first kfipper behind the boat during demo at the WakeGirls Experience. And the first one inside out yesterday. Exciting firsts, keep ‘em coming. O’Neill makes sunglasses now and they look flippin sweet:

Ally and I have been working really hard on the new Throw It Down site. It’s going to be awesome, it should be launching here in the next week or two! It might just be the best site I’ve ever built. This summer is going to be a smoking hot one. I hope your A/C works because mine doesn’t yet. Ha. <3

GRD2 & System Deux.

4.26.10

Jen | shred. //

Girls Ride Day 2 was awesome. We got rained out but I’d take the overcast butter over excessive heat and windy any day. It went by so fast though! Girls drove in from as far as Atlanta, Jacksonville, and West Palm. It’s pretty cool to see that there really is some kind of a demand for this kind of stuff. There’s a little write up on the event on Alliance here. Wakegirls will also have a video up soon.  They got a clean kickflip on film, can’t wait too see it. It’s cool to see that some of the girls that met at GRD have been hanging out and riding together! I’m trying to throw 3-4 of these a year. Big thanks to The Projects, Nike 6.0, O’Neill, and everyone that came out to play!

Cassa’nova’ and I have been riding quite a bit of system together. We’ve hit some early mornings in the park with the 7D. I don’t know if I’ve been slacking hardcore, or wayyy to busy but I haven’t edited anything since I bought that camera and that makes me sad. So I’m working on it! Film more, edit more. I miss that stuff. Mikey G came out one afternoon to ride and take some shots, you can check them out on Blast. Ally‘s got some sweet photos of Cass in there too.

Wake Update.

4.07.10

Jen | shred. //

I walked down to the dock last week to ride with some friends, and instead ended up doing a little surprise chase filming. Pretty rough morning considering the night before we celebrated my birthday a bit. A few poorly maneuvered tricks shouldn’t have made the cut but what can ya do. Good vibes, great song…

Just before I rode that morning Danny filmed his sweet new rail which is also on Alliance, and you can check it out here. I also got a shot in the AWS weekly schnnnaps 2 weeks ago thanks to Ally B! We got some good winching in while Canada was in town…come back Canada!

I just got the go ahead on throwing another Girls Ride Day at The Projects on Sunday April 18th! Mark your calendars. It’s going to be a good one! More info coming soon…

Awesome View.

2.01.10

Jen | shred. //

Ally from TID had her HD GoPro Hero shipped to the Conway house while she was in town and it showed up at the door a few days after she left for Canada, so she left us in charge to test it out for her…

It’s awesome! I am half tempted to just buy it off her and get a new one sent her way. We’ve only taken it out for two test runs, one overcast set and Danny took it for a few laps on the dirtbike track. This sucker is actually going to help dial in kickflips. It’s cool to see frame by frame from your angle, and where things might be going wrong. As soon as the sun comes back out in Orlando Keaton and I are jimmy-rigging it to a boom and shredding doubles. Woooo! Thanks Ally!

Good Bye 2009.

1.06.10

Jen | FCTN. life. shred. work. //

2009 is gone already?! Where does time go? I want to find that place and soak up all the minutes and hours that slipped by too fast…

Highlights:

- my trip to Rome

- Landing my 1st kickflip

- Receiving and riding my 1st Integrity Jenny Danger which I created the graphics for with a picture of my gorgeous grandma.

- 1 year anniversary

- Nor Cal Convergence 8 & 9

- 1st Place at Worlds & WakeGames

- O’Neill, Vans, & Pro-Tec

- Throwing my first event/gathering: Girls Ride Day

Lows:

- stolen car (again. 2x)

- saying goodbye to Poppy

- getting wrecked

———————————–

I’m sure the list could go on & on. Pretty crazy I know so many great people that passed away in 2009. However, for every person I know that passed, I also know of a baby that was born…pretty impressive how the world goes round. It was a great year, and 2010 has even more to offer, most of which will be a surprise. Fiction‘s headquarters is almost done being built and we will be moving in February! We’ve got our hands full with a new project, and got into lots of music goodness last year. I’m hope to keep pushing the women’s side of wakeskating in the right direction. Here’s to 2010!

Girls Ride Day!

12.07.09

Jen | shred. //

20091129girls-day-024-715x479

Girls Ride Day was a success! This is the first event I’ve put together and I hope to do several more. This kind of grill & chill & wakeskate fun environment is so key for the progression of the sport. Fuel the progression, give it a place to live and breathe. Be the catalyst. Check out the video P.Wie made on Alliance of Girl Ride Day. There’s also photos and a write-up on The Projects site and Throw It Down. Thanks to all the girls that came out!

Big thanks to The Projects, Nike 6.0, Pro-Tec, Skull Candy, Integrity, and Rockstar for making this event happen!

10232_523260884666_83503424_30849552_4173907_n

Cassie and I went swimming right after I took this photo, no neoprene…brr. I only got to stay for a hot minute. I flew in and out of Reno for Nor Cal Convergence so I could say hi to my family and friends along with get some Tahoe time! Cass joined as my P.I.C. (partner in crime). She’s never been to Tahoe, so we took her straight to Tahoe Tessie’s favorite fish for a swim. I screamed. That’s a scary fish to swim over…

10423_1220581749171_1067752658_30681731_6240117_n

Convergence was EPIC, I’m already counting down for #10. Lot’s of good riding, drinking, and bonfire coal juggling goodness. I forgot to throw out the disclaimer that I’m not actually good at juggling. I got this handy-dandy super neat iPhone app that makes photos look all awesome Holga/Polariod style. I don’t even want to use my regular point and shoot anymore. This is the best iPhone photo I have ever taken:
